On the rare occasion i wear type A's its my husky technicals. Some might rubbish them but ive only got type c's to compare them too so they seem light and pretty airy with the vents open.

No trousers are goin to keep you cool enough in the conditions weve had lately, just not possible.

If your goin to start climbing best get type c all round protection.

Pfanner are the best for quality, hard wearing and a good fit but theyre very pricey.

You can get type A and C trousers that are ok but they rarely last so its a false economy buyin a pair of cheaper ones every year.

Welcome to the industry bud

Cheers, yeah think will start off with type A while I’ll be doing mainly ground work till I’ve saved enough to do my climbing and I hear the type C are a bit uncomfortable to wear whilst running about on the ground. Will check the Pfanner out now.

Yep what he said.

id add to it though, type c are required if you’re doing a climbing assessment.  After that you can wear what you like

regarding trousers, stretch air get my vote.  At the upper end of the price scale but you get what you pay for

What brand are the stretch air? Are the type C?

I use stihl hiflex but only buy them when heavily discounted. They are not the best for durability but do for me, conny hedge reductions is hard on them as is short stropping the chainsaw in the tree
