I've had loads of thorns in my time get stuck here an there....

my favored method of extraction is to razer blade them out..  slice the skin around the offending thorn squeeze them out..  if its under the nail, its a needle and gritted teeth..

A pal of mine had this. Took about 6 months of hand getting inflamed etc. Eventually they did surgery and removed the smallest bit of thorn which had worked it's way into a knuckle.

I'd look at things which will draw it all out rather than antibiotics as it will keep getting infected if there is a tiny bit still in there.

I am extremely sceptical of homeopathic stuff. However I have used silica for getting out things like angle ground tungsten flecks from the eye, blackthorn and splinters up the nail. I was surprised at how quickly the offending foreign body removed itself.

Also soaking in hot extremely salty water is excellent

+1 for Sillica. Class remedy for making foreign bodies work their way out...I'm surprised you still sceptical if it worked. As always, I don't blame the scoffers for scoffing, as I would scoff too if I hadn't experienced the power of homoeopathy. Who cares if it's basically magic, if it actually works (by the way, magic is real, and nothing to mess around with).

I m sceptical in that I reckon some of them aren't up to much. But had good results from silica, arnica , and a handful of others which names I forget.

Agree even if they are a total placebo, placebos still have a measurable effect.

Cheers, I def won’t ignore it, it bloody kills ?. The doc said it should settle down but I’m not sure he was on the same page as me when it comes to this type of injury. If it doesn’t go down in a week or so or if the infection comes back then I’ll be straight there. I’m not one to be a marytr lol

The first whack of Flucloxawhatsit had no effect on my arm.  I had to double dose on them for a further week. On the plus side, It probbaly rendered me incapable of carrying any disease ever.

Arnica cream works.  Homeopathic remedies like Arnica 6 and 30, are pure bollocks.

I’ve had a weeks course of that 4x 500mg. It’s killed the infection just left a bruised stiff swollen knuckle. Proper pain in the arse (finger haha)

I have one in my knuckle from a fortnight ago, that night mrs oldwoodcutter produced her needle wallet and as usual tried to dig it out, i levitated off my chair at one point, but it wouldn’t come out for all the tea in China. I’ve tried every trick in the book since,
but the begger won’t come out.
I’m leaving it there, may grow out.
