Looking @ run times i reckon its the same power as the MSA 200 C-BQ cordless rear handle, maybe has same parts...

 

Why do they not sell a full range of spares for cordless?

 

When the motor went on my dyson I replaced it for £20, but don't see any spares listed for theese cordless tools, sees a shame to have to bin stuff because no spares avalible?

 

Cordless stuff is disposable if breaks more landfill?

so my google-fu has failed me, i was looking at getting the husky t536li but this thread made me wonder if theyre planning on upgrading/bring a new model out soon. anyone heard any rumours before i buy?

I was using mine again today, now feeling I'm quite happy with last year's model. I cannot imagine the new one has a more efficient motor, more likely a seven or eight spline sprocket, giving higher chain speed. The blurb says 35min for the AP200 battery, which is the same as the old model. How can they get more power out if the same battery? Better motor? I doubt it. My guess is a bigger sprocket, thus sacrificing torque for speed. I'm quite happy with more torque less speed, it's easy to grind in the cut, giving very precise control.

I highly doubt Stihl would add a larger sprocket knowing full well it would mean less torque.  If they say they have made the motor more efficient then they have IMO.  They are pumping a huge amount of resources(and money no doubt) into the battery range.

No Steve, its all marketing. They've simply changed a £10 part to make the saw slower...
