Isn't every 50 hours a little excessive?

Kohler are bombproof. Would have thought every 250-500 hours for an oil and filter change?

You are probably right, I just feel for the little cost I do it often

I wouldn’t be waiting 500 hours to change oil on any work tools. Oil and filters are cheap and quick.
I change every 100 on my kubota engines they are bomb proof too. Costs about £25 a time but for my peace of mind it’s well worth it.

Thinking of getting a new engine, and get the existing one to a total service, even tho it runs great. And take the new one to 1300 hours or so and put in the other one and so on. And refurbishment in the machine itself at some point. Already changed all bearings and clutch and the shafts. Phew and cutter wheel to .

Would it not make more sense to buy a 2nd grinder?

hardly new though, sensible nonetheless, presumably relying a lot on up-specced (synethic perhaps?) oil as well.

And telling porkies re protecting the oil from thermal stresses due to  not being kept in the sump, since that is not where the oil gets thermally stressed.
