Just a quick enquiry to see what people do for their secondary attachment when on a stem chogging down? I always used to choker the line and use a prussic but I've always though this was a bit shady! any better solutions?

Cheers!

I was taught running bowline and prussic is secure but you should have a fig 8 to take the friction if you descend on single line as otherwise the prussic binds up. I like that for simplicity but now also have a multisaver so if been climbing on that during dismantle just snug it up round the stem and carry on.

Confession time I have never used either.  I just used to leave my Ddrt set up round the trunk.

Both the above answers are the correct way to go about it if you want to play it by the book.  I was always too lazy, probably fortunate it never came back to bite me in the arse

Just been looking on Petzl's website and they verify this! Backing up the prussic device with a Munter hitch tied through a caribiner but I like the idea of a Fig. 8

i'd recommend the rope guide over pulley saver

Yeah but it would clash with all my other Teufelburger Gear! ? (I will say I got to try a spiderjack with the rope guide at the top a while ago - thought I'd died and gone to heaven!)

SRT -Rope wrench on a retrievable 3 -4 meter tail is spot on..
It won’t move choked off and you can position your self perfectly for the next cut put in the face and r retrieve easily for the back cut and stack up the lumps perfect... or ring or snatch .. what ever but it would be the only system I would use now.
