Boring insects in log pile

Anybody shed some light on what little critter could be making these holes and associated frass in these ash logs cut about two months ago. IMG_1442.jpg

Was I the only one that thought after reading thread title, the insects in his log pile were a bit unremarkable?:)

Yes we only get the interesting insects in our wood pile. When you put some wood next to the fire in winter and next minute a giant wasp is flying around the room like the air ambulance indoors.:willy:
