Boring insects in log pile

Yes we only get the interesting insects in our wood pile. When you put some wood next to the fire in winter and next minute a giant wasp is flying around the room like the air ambulance indoors.:willy:

Hi, anyone know what these insects are and should I do something about it. The logs are ash and were felled and processed last November stacked up in my sunny carport. 

I think they are only going through the bark. They look similar to ants. Flying Wood ants ? No sign of beetles. Don’t fancy taking them in the house. Lots of sawdust too. 

Any ideas anyone. Many thanks.
