Value Softwood Cord

Hello. I am trying to shift roundwood log of Sitka and Douglas. Chicken farmers are not giving much, and fencing stakes is too much hassle. I would like to sell to firewood merchants by the cord, 8'x4'x4'/128 cubic feet or 3.6m cube, with a market value for the finished product a little over £240 based on softwood log for sale by the dumpy bag in South Wales.

I don't think anyone buys by the cord, it's usually ton or cubic meter which I think are similar. For firewood/chip we just paid £38+vat delivered in which was a good price for us. How much do you have?

I reckon I might have 30 tonne. It was a late thin, so a nightmare to get the stuff down. I have been quoted what you paid, the stuff to go for chip for heating chicken sheds. I reckon this is the wrong market for me!

We sold a few cubic metres of softwood to regular customers for £70 a cubic metre when we didn't have any softwood left at the end of the winter. If your thinking of selling to firewood merchants around south Wales by the builders bag your probably looking at £15/20 max a bag delivered.
I've just bought a few loads of softwood cord for kindling at £35 a ton and he only got 21 ton on as it was so dry.
I'm only in Pontypool and might be interested in it for £35 a ton delivered to put in the biomass boilers if you can't shift it
