What is your point mull ?? I see some one bashing monbiot what’s new?? I think the biggest worry now is if we leave the EU and the single farm payment stops whole upland areas will be drained and ploughed for the most profitable way to make money off the land possible killing off the last of our natural eco system ... don’t suppose you give a shit though as you think salmon farming is great ... polluting some of the most pristine parts of the British lands with the equivalent of 10’000 people a day from a single farm ejecting raw sewage in to the ocean not only that the the complete annihilation of the natural population of sea trout and salmon.
It’s not progressive it’s just pure greed and that is what the majority of agriculture is.
