Doing the same thing. My van is due its MOT first week in June, I'm shoving it through the garage next Friday.

Edit: I don't know how taxi drivers/owners are going to get on, my mate runs a local taxi company, he tells me that most of the drivers have had the DPF removed. We'll see..

Correct. It’s going to cost your mate a small fortune.

I’m looking into getting an historic vehicle and putting modern engine and running gear into it. No mot and no f****** road tax[emoji121]️

Have never heard of bull bar being removed as not standard fitting.

Better got my spanners out and remove winch off the front of landy 130 as its got an MOT tomorrow.

Just got this off gov.uk

It is not illegal for vehicles to be fitted with bull bars, although the department would not recommend their fitment unless it has been shown, through compliance with specified safety standards, that they do not pose an additional risk of injury to pedestrians or other vulnerable road users.

Think l must have had a keen inspector. Can't find anything specifically about winches. Leave it on. Take it off in front of him if he insists. It's all a bit of a joke and a money making racket in my opinion. I suppose you need some form of regulation

EML on=straight fail!

There are a few things that will bring on the EML , it could be something as simple as a spark plug, or lead failing, or the coil failing. I don't see how this is dangerous.

Others will disagree.

Remember the days when there was a fella in the pub with an mot pad. All you needed was the mileage and reg (and a tenner)

But if there’s a dodgy spark plug or coil your fuel won’t be being efficiently burnt which will come back to an emission fail. Unburnt fuel entering your catalytic converter will also f*** it up.
So although not dangerous still not good enough.

I don’t want to run a dangerous vehicle, but merely resent this EU led legislation.

Yea, brakes and lights and other such things should be checked for, but, if you've cut the EGR off I don't see how thats dangerous..

If your asking me we should all kick a fuss up about these crappy add ons that hardly work to begin with..  and don't be blaming europe for all these new regulations, they couldn't of brought them in without our own government endorsing it..
