I had one of the original Husky cans with the green spout and it worked perfectly well for about 6 years .  I did not realize there was a problem it was that good .  Then one day it fell off the back of the pickup and broke the spout . So , got a replacement spout and it stopped working after about a week . Got another and that was equally crap  after a short time .  made me wonder if it was the ethanol that was introduced since I bought the original ?  I now have one of the new ones and it has only ever had Aspen in it ( which has no ethanol ) and it also is fine . .......

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone who uses one of these regularly might be able to help. I've had one for a year but only use it occasionally, so it goes a few months at a time without being used. The problem is the self stopping spout on the petrol, which doesn't stop, therefore making a lovely mess (worked fine to start with though). The issue is that it doesn't 'pop back' properly, and gets jammed a few mm from closing. I bought a replacement spout which also worked fine at first  but now has the exact same problem. Thinking it must be me, as both worked to start with and what are the chances of getting two that are faulty?

Any suggestions or experiences in resolving this greatly appreciated (I have already trawled google and these forums)

Apologies if I've posted in the wrong forum

James

they are rubbish,  apparently they swell up and stick and cause problems.  I stripped it a few times to no avail so i stripped the guts out of it and modified it to a straight pour type.  The older Husky cans had black or green spouts which were a bit better but are easier to fix.

The old Husky cans with the black spouts lasted donkeys years then the green ones came out which are crap. I suspect they outsourced manufacture to China.

Dunno if these are as good as the older versions but I get these in green or black off Ebay. £7.99 including p&p.
