If you go for the neon transformer ensure it has an open circuit, I got one for the same reasons and it doesn't allow an open circuit. So if anyone has a neon light that needs a new transformer............ I have one for sale. lol.

This guy gives some very good (science based) advice on how to do this safely as well as explaining why it is so damn dangerous in the first place.

for such an intelligent man he is so stupid.

keeps calling the MDF a wood which it isn't then thinks that the formulation for making MDF is using a resin and then burns the stuff releasing formaldehyde into the air which he no doubt inhaled. on top of that he did it inside his own house.

Thanks guys I am quite surprised that my mirror didn’t get more comments but hey , Thanks Guys I love watching it happen and as long as you don’t F##k about it’s ok I have seen people in America holding on to the electrodes and I would think doing something like that would be total F###ing asking for trouble, I stand well away and use a stick to turn the plug on and off , If you want I could do a fractles day with a few of us let me know , I want to do big tables and benches .

Thanks Guys

Where are you based mate, it's pretty interesting (and scary)!

Hi Joe , I am in Shaftesbury Dorset, come on down no worries, it’s ace to watch and as long as you are carefull ,

My brother in law has recently started a wood shop, I'm hesitant to recommend this to him as it could make for a really awkward funeral speech, but if we have an open invite and can organise the journey we'd be very interested!

N.B. He's an automotive engineer by trade so not a total fuckwit unlike myself
