1, If you have taken your B (car) test after January 1997 you can tow a trailer up to 750kg as long as the total combination or train weight does not exceed 3500kg. 
So in short if you want to tow a large trailer weighing more than 750kg and you took you driving test after January 1997 you may need to take a DVSA B+E towing test.


In 1 the GTW can be up to 4250kg.

In 2 you can tow trailers over 750kg as longs as the combined MAM & MLPM is 3500kg or less.

This has been changed too as C1E no longer upgrades D1 to D1E.
