St8 feed roller gap

UPDATE:
Removed the crap around the areas spoken above but still had the same size gap. Had another look at the top plate covering the top feed roller and there was a build up in the corners (where circled in the picture). I took of the rubber shock absorber but was a bitch to get to it and gave up after 45 minutes of swearing.

It’s going to service next week so will hopefully get it fixed then, I’m just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem, and if it would causing the gap ?

Had it bad in exactly the same place and ended up undoing the roller pivot bolts and lifting the whole top roller assembly out and getting at it with a sharp chisel, bit of skin loss and much swearing later was all good again, definitely a slight design floor!

What do you do now John, just pull a lever & lock the roller up ?

Okay thanks for the reply, think that’s the next step to be taken!

Nothing at all, nothing gets stuck as its too scared too dare to, now stuff under the bottom roller is another matter I've actually got to kneel down to reach the handle to drop the flap to clean that out, very uncomfortable on cold ground [emoji6]

Not really, springs off
Either take motor off the shafts or undo pipes off motor to let it lift out
Undo pivot bolts from either side and it should be free to lift up, I'm lucky I have several options to lift things in our yard but two willing lads should manage it.
Lining everything back up will either go perfectly smoothly or be a bitch and really annoy you.
Did it twice on my machine and had both!
