INSURANCE AFTER A CLAIM

Hi,

I am new to this but have a serious problem. 3 years ago I had a self employed chainsaw operator make an incredible stupid mistake on my site(I wasn't present) He attempted to run under a tree that another operator had began to fell!!!! Long story short, he went to hospital with fractures, but was back working for someone else after 4 months. His claim has been on going because my insurers want to take it to court(May this year) as they are confident he will receive nothing for his lies & stupidness. The H & S were happy with everything I did that could have prevented the accident, but unfortunetly there is a £100,000 reserve put on the case. Until it is resolved in May one way or another insurers are very wary as I am now a LTD company.

Has anyone else had a similar situation?

Thanks for reading.

Hi. I was in very similar situation a few years ago.

premium went up by from €7k to€12k at renewal and was loaded for 5 years.

i was also able to prove ‘operator error ‘ and insurance co were happy to fight claim in court. After 2 years of waffle going back and over insurance co settled with the claimant. My premiums came down slightly from 12k each year of the five and came down substantially afterwards .

other insurers weren’t interested while claim was ongoing
