Done with self almalgamating tape. Had to find some longer bolts. Not sure if the heads will interfere with the ascender or not as I don't have that with me at home. If it does I can buy some of the proper bolts in a longer length. a240023b6f5ce10819842af46db8c3df.jpgccb760965a70ca687a936f1bb7afbd96.jpg

I hear what your saying. I have kiwi climbers on my spikes and tried using them the other day on a takedown, I was accessing using srt and the rope was away from the trunk (intentionally) to give me a clean route. The kiwis are rubbish most of time and worse for SRT so I looked for a solution and found these clamps.

Also, with Ddrt I did use the kiwi climber quite a lot, so this will work for that application too, just a better ascender really, not just for SRT.

And finally, Rich, I dont actually know what the feck I'm doing yet so its all experimenting.

put rubber on the inside of the clap...........a bike inner-tube would work well.

There is tape wrapped round the inner part of the clamp, you can see it in the first photo. Bike inner tube would have been good, didnt think of that! This self amalgamating stuff is good though. Not sure when I next have a chance to use it.

I bought the Arbpro spike adaptor for the foot ascender but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I've used the foot ascender on a few rec climbs and it's a great asset when ascending away from the main stem. I got the left leg version as my right knee is weak from an old injury. I climb ddrt with either a prussik or hc system. Recently bought a zigzag and i'm going to try it with the foot ascender to see how it works out.
