C1E is different to C1+E

If you have a pre97 licence, when the categories got changed in 97, there was a very narrow window to change your licence and keep your full 7.5 tonne truck and towing entitlement. If you missed that window, when you got a new licence they will have given you C1E, which entitles you to tow 750 kg with a 7.5 tonne truck, hence 8250kg MAM.

If you take the test for C1+E, then you will get the full towing entitlement, which is 3500kg, or 11000kg MAM.

I've still got my paper one, with the full entitlement :001_smile:
