Turkey oak with longitudinal crack at rear

Hi guys,

Few pics below of an oak in local park which has a large crack about 20ft long at the rear.  The garden cane in the pic is 60 cm and I probed at three points and the cane kept going, tried the three points again with a meter of steel cable and lost it almost.  Some occlusion further up the stem no p&d evident. Its down for annual monitoring now but I think some invasive investigation is needed given its location, any thoughts on next steps??

Cheers
