Old billhook wanted

Recommended Posts

Hi guy’s, first thanks for letting me join. I have recently retired having worked on golf courses all my working life. In an effort to stay reasonably fit I have just joined a local hedgelaying and coppicing group in North Devon. I love the old tools and always have and was wondering whether anyone had an old billhook they would sell me. Ideally I would love to own one of them Yorkshire double bladed hooks.... But I know that’s a big ask?

No tools to sell, just a web site that may be helpful if you can't buy secondhand: https://www.toolnut.co.uk/products/morris-yorkshire-billhook

My local agri supplies store usually has a variety of billhooks and slashers in stock so it might be worthwhile checking  out agri supply stores local to you. Keep an eye on your local "Gumtree" or place a "wanted" advert there also.
