The Crypto coin thread

By the way anyone thinking of getting involved in crypto and being new - be aware the space is littered with scams and people who will 'sell you a magic formula only they know that is guaranteed to work!'

A favorite one is an advert on a youtube vid asking you to send a crypto to say Tesla or similar to get double back. These are professionally done and although you may think 'who would fall for that' - I did! [only a small amount fortunately]. The adverts are professionally done and look entirely authentic [weird how YouTube don't seem to worry about blocking them... 🙄]

The reason is there are actual genuine give aways and what are called air drops where you do get free crypto! But then there are scams pretending to give away airdrops.

How do you know what is a scam and what is not? Research - you got to put the time in. It's a pretty crazy world in cryptoland and this thread being resurrected seems to point that we are going into the mania phase again.

On Coinbase you can answer a few questions and get a few free coins for doing nowt.

And now worth?

a mate bought 400 quids worth quite near the start and doesn’t know the password. Has it on an old hard drive but has no clue to what he chose all those years ago. Currently “worth” several Million but without a password it’s got no value at all ☹️

This seems to be a pretty common story.
