Like some other saws it's not designed to remain in stop position. Just you push it lightly down to kill saw and then it pops back to start. There is the option to push firmly all the way down so that it sits on stop or lock position if you choose....( unclear why you would want this)

What’s this little lock sign for @shavey?

its one slight annoyance with this saw, how far the stop button sits in the recess, a bit fiddly to get out; that’s when I noticed the lock symbol

As Bill says ...its a touch and release stop leaver Steve. You don't even need to hold the leaver down while the saw stops...just a flick down and the engine kills. The lock is just as it looks...to lock the saw against starting when you really don't want it to as the saws MPI coil stores a charge of electricity that will make the saw fire without much rotation of the motor.

Hello Steve as others have said just touch it and it’ll stop the lock function is meant for workshop use so service engineers can  lock the saw In the off position for safety

as this saw will start if it sees somebody touching the cord
