I don’t have a day rate I work out how long jobs take and put a value on my time per the job after all there’s only so much someone will pay to prune an apple tree or remove a small prunus etc.

Some days ill do 3 jobs that will far exceed a day rate of say £6-700 other days 1 job may work to that price others I may do small jobs over half a day and be under a day rate price but over the year it works out.

I dont care care what others do or charge I only care about what I do and charge and sometimes it’s funny in the sense that customers get a feel for you as you do them when pricing and 9 times out of 10 I’m told your not as cheap as other prices we have been quoted but when can you do the job.

Lastly I understand that people know what it costs them to operate for a day and they won’t operate for a penny less and they usually make the same every day BUT it also costs them more by not going out at all.

I find reputation normally dictates who gets the job not price.

Similar here, I don't have a day rate as such, it's whamming loads of little jobs in one day that I like, did an £800 day with just me and the groundie a week or two back, easy little jobs. Then last week was £550 between 3 of us on a gruelling day. Swings and roundabouts!
TBH I'm through with the glory jobs, I still enjoy them but passed the stage of pricing to win them
