Utility Arb Forum

When I checked out the 'newstyle' Arbtalk at the start of August, I noticed the utility-arb bit had gone.  Is this a recent thing to do with the update, or had it been gone for a while?

If I search for old Arbtalk UA topics using google, they all show up, but when I try to access them I get told I 'don't have permission to view' or that you 'could not locate the item'.

Seems a bit of a shame (although I appreciate that some don't find Utility-Arb very glam).

Otherwise, Like the new layout.

Thanks for that Steve.  It would be a pity to loose the content.

Its seems a shame that the utility specific bit has been shelved.

There are, after all, other forums available for international arborists, concerned home owners, wood workers, legal types. There are not so many resources available for those involved in utility-arb.

I do appreciate that is has taken two months for anyone to bother to pipe up, and therefore, the lack of traffic is not going to make Utility stuff that relevant for the site.

I also see that, for instance, some 'niche' activities get themselves a sub-forum (such a horse logging).  What would be the odds of the utility-arb content being clumped together in a sub-forum?

Many thanks, and hope you had a good day!

I can see Steve's point, you've been a member for six years and have posted twelve times. (three of which are in this thread)

If there isn't the volume of traffic it's hard to justify retaining parts of the forum. The saying 'use it or lose it' comes to mind.

Im not having a personal dig at you, just trying to illustrate that forums are only as good as the input of the members.
