Anyone else get their kids to help out?

 

Obviously within reason.  

 

I have just moved into a new property and there are a few trees around my garden.  I have a few bits a pieces to do once my new pole for the pole pruner arrives.  The other day I went up a Birch in the garden to do a bit of deadwooding.  My oldest son wanted to come up the tree with me so when I was done I set a top anchor for him and let him go up SRT.  He helped clear some hangers out and hen we had a play around.

 

Not one to be left out, my youngest wanted a go but the harness was too big.  So we just tied a stick to a rope and made a swing for him.

 

Family fun.

Thats awesome.  I'm ashamed to say I have never put my kids up a tree yet.  Have had them help me a couple of times when I trimmed up the neighbours trees.  They mostly just slowed me down though!

My step daughter used to come and help me load up logs into the truck, but I was always worried about throwing one and hitting her in the head.

Wicked. I've just got a full petzl kids harness for my 5 year old. Looking forward to using!

But is was good weather and a nice day, so why not.

a good tip...  leave a long tail in the swing that way you can waz the little ones really high.
