Kiwi Klimbers

I purchased the Kiwi Klimbers ascender for my Stein X2 spikes assuming they would be compatible with each other but alas no. Any advice?

Never assume!!  That's my advice...sorry not much help!

i bought some for the geckos that fit fine.  Do they only do one version?

Indeed, Assumption is the root of most fuck ups! I bought the Kiwi Klimbers from H.B, i should be able to return them. They definitely won't fit the X2's.

There's a protrusion on the back of the gaffs on the X2's that the Kiwiklimber doesn't allow for plus the Kiwiklimber is flat whereas the shank of the X2's are curved where the gaff are located. I sent them back to HB asking them to send me the Arbpro spike ascender and to refund me the difference. I feel that Kiwiklimbers should publish a definitive list of compatible spikes with their product on there website and to pass that list on to all online retailers selling the Kiwiclimber.

Dale has lightly tensioned the Titanium cam which seems to resist the tendency to create a bight in the rope on ascent. KK Spikescender can only be used when attached to stirrups – KK Carbons or Distel / Gecko.

Didn't really know anything about shape of the X2's but here's a pic for anyone else who might try one.

They look more like bashlin than x2's.

 

i thought the spikecender was meant to be just above the gaff.  How does t perfect fm half way up to your knee?

From what i've gathered the Spikescender is meant to sit between the gaff and the shank.

Sorry I've just realised I didn't mention in first post that mine weren't stein but that's why I had to just bolt them on.

It works perfectly well half way up though.
