Bargain saw...?

Having already bought the Woodstar top handle for 69euros, I thought that I'd give the 89euro ground saw a punt.

I'll run it on Aspen like the other.

It ran up nicely, feels and sounds like it has some poke.

From what I've read, the carb is made by the same company as Stihl.

Gets used in anger next weekend so I'll report back.

I'm only bothering to mess around testing these saws because I'm curious and flush with cash from wood chip sales.

The Woodstar top handle has a 25cm bar and is about as powerfull as the Stihl 150 but heavier, more fragile and less economical.

If I had 1500euros to blow I'd try out a Lumag against a GM CS100.

I once got a Zomax saw in with a few others I got to refurbish. From what I remember, the top cover had charred around the spark plug, the starter gear was appalling, the AVs were as soft as poop but the engine seemed to run OK. You do get what you pay for although sometimes you can get lucky and get something better than the small cost you paid should have given you.
