Cutting climbing rope

Recommended Posts

I clipped my rope with the saw and was looking to cut off the end to use for something else. What's the best way to cut a rope and seal it?

Hot wire . Or sharp blade , tape the end first then heat the cut end with a lighter and seal it together .

Have you got one?

ive an expensive gas soldering iron (forget the make) similar to that with a flat end. It might cut baling twine after heating up for ten minutes>:(

I use a thin kitchen knife heated over a gas stove at home to cut & seal at the same time. (Don't use the wife's good ones :$)
