Hey guys, just a reminder that Red Bull Branched Out and the 5 Rivers Outback Festival are happening on the same weekend in Balranald, so accommodation is booking up fast!

Please check out the list of accommodation here and make your bookings with the respective places ASAP before you miss out!

As far as we know, Shamrock Hotel/Motel is full, and there's only a few spots left in the Balranald Caravan Park.

Anyone attending the event as a spectator or wanting to help will need to get in quick!

Will there be a webcast of the event? Red Bull support a few sports I follow and their live feeds and highlights shows are really good. Hopefully this one gets the response needed so they can continue to support it.

Thanks Bloom, we hope so too! The event will be featured on RedBull.tv and Red Bull Australia's website and social media channels, but we are unsure of the details if there will be a live webcast. BUT... I will be there during the event and most likely will be running a few live Facebook videos on our page through www.facebook.com/arboricultureaustralia

Just to jump in here and say I hope all you guys from the old country can find a way to make it down for this.

We've run a few comps now using this format, and the reviews from competitors have been really positive.  It's fast, fun, and (believe it or not) actually a good spectator sport.  Plus the location we've managed to get access to is just awesome - river red gums are one of Australia's iconic trees.  And October in Australia is slightly more pleasant than October in the UK...

It's just like that here all the time in October.  Really, honest.

Watch Grant Cody and Ged Reynolds swing through the Red Bull Branched Out competition tree as they conduct prep work after ecological assessments were completed. This is a great opportunity for the competition climbers to get a good look at the sheer scale of this massive River Red Gum in Balranald, New South Wales, Australia.

If you haven't registered to climb yet, make sure you get in soon at https://www.redbull.com/au-en/events/red-bull-branched-out
