Defender woes

First time it cracked at No1 injector as you know got that welded, now cracked at No2. Looked at a second hand head 10 miles away off gumtree from an engine that lost a big end,for £90 squid, didn't expect much. Bloke brought it out and it was a perfect AMC head.Win win

Bit far from essex, Andy is in Morayshire. Mind you can remember  their big sale, must have beeen over 20 yrs ago when they closed one of their sites, came away with a lot of bits


I trust no one else with my defender. They eat, sleep, breathe land rovers. With all their engineers dedicated time-served Land Rover mechanics and enthusiasts.

I had similar problem on old SII , kept running hot n spurting it's load. Bought new rad n kenlowe fan kit- still did it ! Then took garden Hose n fitted it on heater inlet, blocked other hose off, ran tap fr 10minutes an tiny Lil leaks appear like magic ! Sorted those an runs steady at 90 C :) k

 

 

( a pressure test at 15 psi basically )
