What crane to sit on back of Unimog u1250

You can't go very big on the linkage.

 

I would have thought a Hiab 070 or 090, but on a sub frame.

 

 

its looking like the crane will now be behind the cab. It's not perfect but it's what's going to work best for our set up . As I'm looking for something second hand can anyone tell me where to start looking??

SELLING FOR CUSTOMER - NO VAT ON SALE.

 

This Unimog has been very well looked after by it's long term owner (now sadly deceased).

 

It is well equipped with a rear PTO, three point linkage & fixed hitch plus working group gears.

 

The Unimog is in lovely original condition. The cab is in great order for the year and the Unimog drives well.

 

The timber crane with 1400mm grab & Junkari woodchipper both in good working order are included in the sale.

 

The crane could be removed and an x-frame, tipper ram & body could be fitted at additional cost.

 

Just undergone inspection in our workshop and in good condition all round.

depends a lot on what your going to use the crane for.......purely timber work, a farmi 4.8m will fit well, for mixed use, a hiab, or atlas will go in behind the cab, but your reach will not be the same as a timber crane without a few extensions, and depending on how you choose to power it (onboard mog pump or external pto pump) will affect your lift, most hiab type cranes seem to run around the 300 bar, whearas timber ones,around the 180-200 bar, the mog runs at 200 bar, I know on mine this affects my total lift, the crane is down approx 30% on power running off the mog system(an atlas crane) and this has led tome getting a farmi on a tpl setup, with a seperate pump (fits front or rear with a little jiggery pokery ) and the extra reach is so handy

My idea is that we can turn up to sites and clear chip and timber etc at the same time. My thinking is that with the crane mid mounted then I've still got the chipper on the back of the mog. The 7.5 lorry then acts as a "bin" for timber/rakings or whatever. On other jobs I leave the chipper at home and pull grain trailer etc..

 

I don't think a timber trailer with crane would be to my best advantage, I could however be very wrong!

Would you not be able to fit your front mount Jensen now you have uprated the mog suspension ? Then fit a hiab to the rear on a din plate, I think Stevie Blair had a neat quick release set up on his old u1200. Imo having the hiab behind the cab will be very restrictive and you will prob have to lose a bit of your chip box.

Yes, not ideal, you really need to get a front mounted chipper, it totally transforms a mog into the ideal tree bus, IMO.

 

 

Ive got a front mounted Jensen at the mo but haven't had it on as the old springs were sagging. It might have to go on for a bit till a good second hand ducker/schleising becomes available [emoji106]🏻
