Round timber transport wanted South Wales

Every now and then I need to bring a load of logs to my yard (for milling) that is just too little for a normal timber lorry. Is anyone interested in doing occasional haulage jobs (including loading) of usually about 5 to 10 tons of round logs? (Nothing long - usually 2.5 to 3.7m long)

 

They would always be coming back to my yard near Newport South Wales, and usually from within 30 miles or so. I would love to have a small lorry with loader crane but my use would be far too infrequent to justify the cost.

 

Anyone who is interested, I currently need to bring one load back from near Hereford and another from near Evesham.

 

Any takers?

No-one came forward to move my logs on this occasion, so I did it myself using my Transit. Not really the most efficient way to move logs - took four journeys, but they are done now. Only worth it as they included some top quality Cedar of Lebabon - the largest log was 1.3 cubic metres and just about the limit of my little crane's lifting capacity.

 

Thanks to Steve the tree surgeon who offered me the logs.

Good fun isn't it I did simular couple of weekends ago with a big oak tree truck took me 4 trips to get it home I only got a van tho a jcb loaded them in the van and was good fun getting them back out lol.

Wow...I hope you put a bungee strap on that to stop it falling out when going uphill...

That were the pic befor it got put in the van so I could shut the doors and strapped it down to stop it rolling.

Lol well I tied the log to my car then slowly drove the van farward propping it as it came out then use trolly jack to lift and lower it to the floor then a pallet truck to move it from there.

3rd pic is two more decent lumps and 4th pic is a oak porch some of this wood is eventually going to turn into.
