'NEW' (sort of!) Eco Mill 36" Chainsaw Mill

Right, I have my Eco Mill and suitable saw.

Are there any basic instructions on setting up your saw to go with the mill? Details on how and where to clamp the mill to the saw, chain tension etc?

Also, are any bars better than others? Would an Oregon Powermatch bar be ok to start with or would the replaceable nose cause any issues with the end clamp?

I've watched quite a few of your vids Rob so I know roughly what to do, but I couldn't find anything that covered the basics, e.g. how close is too close to the nose sprocket (one inch, two)?

Would the bar I mention be ok to get me going do you think?

Yep your bar is fine - I tend to be around 2" from the nose sprocket as a rule of thumb but check to see if the nose sprocket gets hot.

Correctly sharpened chain is the key and most important aspect of milling (and all chainsaw work really).

I leave a two inch gap. I used the standard bar till i recently got the low pro bar setup from Rob. Nice sharp chain filed to 10 degrees and let the saw do the work. Have fun.

Yep the lo pro bars with the Stihl PMX chain I find to be a lot faster than standard chain. I think in the end they will become standard milling equipment as reduces stress on the saw so much.
