Big forestry winch needed - North Dorset

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a contractor who will be confident they can pull some beech trees over that lean slightly towards a lake.

The trees are generally 20m tall and are fully mature. The client has 6-8 of them that need felling and they can't be dropped in the lake as it's recently been dredged. Anyone think it can be achieved?

I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks, Nick.

What is the DBH? Sound timber?

Bigger is better. A 6.5 might do it but i'd be happier with a 9 on it.

Hello I have a 9 ton farmi remote winch on a valtra roof mount and I am near Shaftesbury. I do forestry contracting and I haven't come across anything I can't pull with pulley blocking or increasing the height of pull etc. If you need a hand for a day can you send me your number and will ring you because it takes me ages to type messages. Thanks nick.

Hello , how are you ? Still got the holder?

I'm good ,still working silly hours but it's good to be busy , although I did jack it in at lunch time today, I don't like being soaked through any more. Went home and serviced the saws instead.

Good to hear from you . Nick
