I think this is what Goaty is getting at.

Some Navara's broke in the middle.

My Navara and my son's rotted away. It appears the new Nav has the same chassis with a bit welded on as an afterthought.

1 year on, 2016 Hilux, if you’ve got one, I’d recommend a really good clean and check the paintwork underneath.

I first spotted this after first service Nov 17 (they must have jet washed the wheel arches) and highlighted it to service manager at Snows Plymouth. He had a dismissive attitude at that time and didn’t bother to follow up after I’d emailed the pics to him.

Dec I went in and “discussed” it with his boss and was showered in apologies and solutions.

After hearing exactly nothing since then, Friday just gone I happened to be in Plymouth so went in again. Service manager “You won’t believe it, we were just talking about this yesterday”

”you’re right, I don’t, but since it’s worse than when I first raised it in Nov, I’d like a solution please.”

So now it’s going back to the factory body shop at Southampton on a loader for a re-work of the underside paintwork.

Well worth a close close check if you have a late Hilux!

Can’t imagine why you would be.

The problem is that you’ve been using it, driving on gritted roads. It can’t be the manufacturers fault:dontknow:

Have you had the annoying front camera issue sorted Kev?
Mine is disabled as often as it’s working! Ali’s the handsfree mic is crap, sounds like you are underwater.
Apart from that I’m pleased with the truck, shame the mpg doesn’t match the Toyota figures.
