Echo CS 280 TES

How do people get on with this saw? I have one and really dislike it. It has a very restrictive exhaust and comes on 3/8ths as standard which is horrible.

I have removed the spark screen and converted it to 1/4 pitch and a 0.50 gauge chain by replacing the clutch drive sprocket, chain and bar (10 inch solid nose carving bar) and while this has improved tings slightly it's still pretty horrible to use.

Me tinks it's time to cut open the muffler, remove the 'Cat' and gut the rest of the internals, TIG it back together and tune to suit.

I have one and dont really like it either, I guess against the 2511 anything feels huge. I wont buy another.. mines now broken, fuel tank has cracked so I will probably sell it. Just feels as big in the hand as a 201t but without the performance benefits.

ya it's a broad bodied lump aint it, bit loike an ex of mine:lol:

I've put about 6 tanks thru it so maybe it will eventually wake up loike wot the 360TES did.
