Hi I wonder if anyone can help with this small 4 stroke engine. It starts with two or three pulls but only runs for 2 minutes and stops.I cleaned the tank and fuel filter no change.Dismantled the carb and cleaned it no change then bought a repair kit for carb but the problem is still the same, any ideas what may be wrong?

Interested to see how this one pans out - we have a similar engine on one of our generators which will run fine after we fit a new spark plug, but then won't restart after it has been stopped. Six plugs fitted so far but no lasting remedy!

These small gx can suffer from the gasket between carb and head.

Maybe it's the tank vent. Have you tried leaving the gas cap open?

This is a good call , tank pulling a vacuum maybe ? Another possibility is low compression . Runs till it gets warm , clearances open up , compression drops of to the extent it wont combust ......
