I have loved having a bigger machine the last 2 yrs life is just so much easier thar why I'm contenplating going bigger still, we have the 8 " tracked jenny and the little gm arborist for run of the mill domestic jobs. The 280 is the 190 replacement some great features but by hell it spits some big bits out the back.

In your finest pitch why choose a bandit over the rest? I hear they are good machines but why?

A Bandit is a long term investment, there are many working in the U.K. From 1999, some a lot older. We have machines at 18000hrs still working, even the first one built is still working. My customers generally sell my machines for me & I can never remember anyone saying 'I wish I never purchased this'.

I still maintain over a longer term they are the cheapest machine, the second hand value has always been good & there is a demand. Service parts are cheap & the machines are simple to fix, maintenance is the easiest I know of. We offer more options than any other Manufacturer, fully proportional radio remote on all tracked machines.

We do what we do & don't have much competition, we do everything ourselves & don't have any distributors.

Would adjustable roller speed not be better? speed it up for brash and down for timber.

The problem is that you can shove so much brash in its what causes the stress control to kick in. Rather than putting one branch in at a time a whole armful will feed, which is why people that are used to timberwolfs and the like think they feel slow on the infeed.

The proof is of course how quickly does it fill your tipper body.

I think that with the reduced amount of snedding and the crushing power of the infeed they are faster is almost every situation. But they are also big, ugly and heavy. saying that I have yet to find somewhere mine won't track to.

Jonny i think your spot on, i try not to get hung up on fed speed and on how well it sucks through brash/timber and service life the Bandit will be hard to beat and like Dean has said a Bandit is an investment.

I will say though we are looking at another tow behind the sheer weight of the 75xp puts me off, they are a heavy old lump.
