This might be a bit of a radical idea joe, but how about an actual drying cabinet?! :laugh1:

Might save you from setting fire to the outside of the garage!

Smug bastard, I didn't know they existed!

At £700 for a half decent one though I'm back to the drawing board!

Cheers, ideally it'd have to be enclosed, otherwise it's not much different to a radiator though.

Would have thought a box with a small dehumidifier would do the job nicely. Just adding heat evaporates the water but where does it end up? We use on in our utility room for drying cloths and the dog! works well.

My thoughts were that a dehumidifier would be more effective with great to draw out out of the clothes. Might have to insulate the box to. I reckon that's the way to go though

Doubt you will need to insulate in a smallish box as dehumidifiers create some heat. Cant remember the science but something to do with latent heat. Ours is noticeably warming a 3mx3m room

Shall i be even more smug?

Got it free

Even wet ropes are bone dry in an hour. Certainly is nice to use dry kit.

What about an old full height fridge or metal cabinet/school lockers with a electric fan heater in the bottom and a 9 inch hole in the top? (mines supposed to have some 9inch dia flexi pipe going out the top to outside, but without, it heats the workshop a little bit)

Wouldn't have thought you'd need to insulate, you just want circulating hot air. Ive tried de-humidifiers before, even after a whole night, kit is still wet.
