Employees liability

Insurance renewal is due so getting a few quotes in, we only use subbies dont have anyone full time on the books we've always had employers liability in place.

one insurance company is telling me we dont need it! as we dont actually employ anyone as they are self employed subbies, surely if they are working for me i've employed them for the day or week so need Employers liability to cover them.

The HSE have some guidance on this but, TBH, in many/most instances you can swing either way in terms of applicable or not. Hence as far as the AAAC scheme is concerned we've made it mandatory to cover both the employees, including self-employed people, and the employer.

Doubtless some will concur with the insurers view, as money to be saved, but I'd be very cautious here and probably insist they had personal accident cover at least.

Not surprisingly I'm in the "get it" camp :thumbup1:

Cheers,

Paul

What's bad? You came on here and asked a question because you wanted to know the answer rather than winging it. Nothing bad about that. :001_smile:

With regards to employer's/employees mate.

Thanks for the input fellas dont think i'll be going with the insurance company that advised not to take out employer's liability 🙈🙈
