Hi, Yeah i forgot all about this.

 

Got all sorted with thanks for the advice received on here about what strops and wire. I'll dig some pics out tomorrow and post.

 

As i remember I got a new wire from Clarks forestry who were really good to deal with. I then got a massive wire strop with alloy ferule to go round the main stem with a belting shackle. These came from a crane lift gear seller on ebay, i think.
