40" bar for MS661?

Hi Rob D,

I need to pick your brains.

I'm running a 30" bar on my MS661, but am needing something bigger for ringing up a big oak stem.

I was thinking 36" but also see there is a 40" sugi bar. Would this work well? Should it have skip chain?

Thanks in advance,

Richard

If you look next to the oil adjuster you'll see a little pin that sticks up. Push that in and you can then increase the oil flow to the very maximum. It's hidden away on page 31 of the user manual.

Good on you sir - never knew that wee gem of advice  a godsend on longer bars and milling will have a look at my own saw.

Serves us right really as mainly we are all lazy buggers who would rather do absolutely anything than read the manual properly :blushing:
