Waste of money?

i was talking to a friend of mine who runs a ground works company today, quote I got to my yard this morning to find a 40 foot low loader loaded with a large tarmac planer and a van parked in the lay-by,the driver was outside drinking tea so spotting a opportunity I asked him where he was working and would they like to drop the old tarmac in the yard for a drink.

He replied that yesterday he was in a Morrisons car park in Herefordshire and was told to drive to this location near Attleborough in Norfolk park up overnight for today's job about a 200 mile trip, then he said that he was only expecting 7 tons of waste which he could hold in the machine so he didn't need to get rid as this wouldn't put him overweight,he was happy as he would be driving back to Herefordshire and get home before tea.

We then worked out that they had brought this kit over to strip 30 square meters at the most of tarmac and driving past the works today I think that was pushing it.

I can't remember the name of the company and the resurfacing was carried out on a B road, approved contractor?taking the hit or billed to the council.

Private companies won't take the hit if they're subbing to a council....

The council will foot the bill...

As an example...

The council round here subs nearly everything out to private companies....

You want to see the 'new' gear these companies have now, since being subbed to.....!
