looks to me like someone tried to make a fool of the boss, and now he's more guarded...

 

I can't blame him to be honest, he tries to settle in and someone mocks him by trying to make a fool of him...

 

What you should be doin is layin the blame on the fella who tried to hide his mistakes by smearing soil on a tree wound..

Don't know if anyone has had any customers like this but my boss was 22 years army and 20 years police then straight into this job so no idea about anything we do. If he asks us questions he goes away and Googles the answer to see if we are right. On the rare occasions that I'm wrong [emoji16] he takes pleasure in coming back and correcting me.

 

Has anyone come across anyone similar?

 

Use to work for one when I first started on plant hire...

 

He would even shout down customers that wanted to hire 'X', but would be adamant that they needed 'Y' - which obviously cost more to hire...

 

He even shot down his own (more experienced than him), fitters / mechanics on what's wrong with machines, and how to fix them...

 

And with me then being a delivery driver for him, he would question every delivery on why it took so long?

 

He would have with every job, the time and distance mapped out, again via Google, but as you know, that's if you're driving a car, not a HGV...

 

And so this was the first time I heard 'well it's only 2 inches on the map!!' saying.....

I had a boss like that he asked me for the dimensions of a grab for a 45t digger so I gave him the wrong sizes and he bought a huge grab it cost about 10k it was so big it couldn't open fully in the back of a bulk artic and promptly got the sack I still laugh about it yet

Next time he asks a question get your phone out and google the answer for him, then your sure to be right. Then anytime your texting or surfing on your phone and he catches you just tell him your looking for the answer and walk off.

Most people I know google the question, not the answer, The answer is what they hope to find. I think "googling" refers to the search.

 

Could be wrong, but try googling that to see.
