Calculating flooring

I need to source 100m2 of green oak flooring for a customer, 9" wide boards and 1.5" thick. length not specified but assume 3-4m

 

Could anyone give me the best way of calculating the amount of Cu ft of wood that this will be?

1m = 39.37 inches.

 

1 square metre = 39.37 x 39.37 - 1550 square inches.

 

1 square metre at 1.5 inches thick = 2325 cubic inches (which divided by 1728 equals 1.35 cubic feet)

 

So 100 square metres of flooring will require 135 cubic feet of green oak, but that makes no allowance for wastage (cutting off the waney edges, undesirable knots, splits and shakes). I'd allow a minimum of 200 cubic foot, but probably a bit more. If you can only use 9" wide boards, there will be a lot of wastage in width.

same figure I arrived to last night, just really confused myself with the numbers. If you could PM me an idea of price it would be useful, although I imagine the haulage would be substantial down to me.

As above,when square edge oak is concerned I allow about 65% recovery, but that is dependant upon size/quality of log.My guestimations would say about 210 min hft3.
