Beer in South Manchester

Hello chaps.

I'm Dr Jim, an actual A&E Doctor. I have a secret addiction to tools and physical pastimes, I have welders grinders drills and stuff for making things. I also have two chainsaws, a hydraulic spliiter and three axes which helps to feed my woodburner. Early last year I managed to get three transit tipper loads of logs from the bottom of someone's garden via facebook. I had great fun chopping it into suitable sized bits and am burning it happily now. I have enough for this year and probably through to this time next year, but am in the mood to restock. I also now have a neighbour with a woodburner - a firewood club!

I don't want to buy processed dried or even your quality hardwood. I'm looking for you guys who chop trees down and would find it easier to dump a load of logs on my drive rather than drive them back to your yard. I WANT the scabby bent bits that are hard to split (I have a lot of stress to work off), I WANT the leylandii and stuff that firewood snobs turn their noses up at, it is all wood and it all burns.

In return I can technically offer healthcare advice, but beer or money to buy beer is probably more easily exchanged. I don't expect anything for free, that's not the way the world works.

I'm in Hale Barns near the airport, please reply to this or send me a message. I can supply any type of beer, what kind of logs have you got??

Cheers

Jim

I know exactly where you are. Do you have piles of stuff I can just scavenge from or do you get it in from time to time? I have a small trailer but might be best if I borrowed my Mate's transit flatbed again and came with a case or two of beer. I'll need to liaise with the neighbour - he has lots of beer in his garage and will bring some of it too!

Thanks for that. It'll be a few weeks before I am ready to get chopping. I'm going to order myself a Gransfors splitting axe to add to the collection first. My Machine Mart Maul works very well but I feel the need for some upgrade shopping! Also need to sort out a few days off work and borrowing the truck. Given how near you are it's not a one off, hope you like regular deliveries of beer!

Will email you nearer the time.

Jim
