These people took over from my previous supplier, they're to Peter's hawkfork design and I did buy one for the JCB telehandler and it seems fine, it's a pig to connect up the hydraulics even with quick connectors if there is a temperature change from when last used.

 

if residual pressure is from thermal change connect the 2 push fits together after removal if fixed use another flexi hose with push fits to connect them or add a3 way tap into 1 pipe to dump a small amount of oil before reataching service pipes

I've only used the Dowty, quick fits with a teat like protrusion and the flat faced drip proof ones, these latter are the hardest to fit IMO.

We have an Albutt log grab on our telehandler and it's done us ok. Only problem is the chrome on the rams is not wonderful. Best keep the rams retracted when not in use for any length of time.

Seems better to unplug the pipes when cold if you can, to avoid the temperature change pressure issue. Bleed the system with engine off ignition on and push buttons or levers first of course.

Most people I have seen use a muck grab. Hedgelaying and the like.

Can you not release the pressure in the fittings before plugging in? I've got a hex head combi-spanner for a bit of proddy proddy jammy jammy when the quick releases want a fight.
