Covering Polytunnels

You do need planning nowadays but not sure if its permission or consent.

The last tunnel i was involved with covering we unrolled it and pulled cover over from one side to other,but no breeze so easy.

Done a few where i work, use space heaters once the polythene was over the frame to get it tight so in the the summer its not a saggy mess.

as the others say, pull it over. the mnore folk the better for this. pull it as tight as tyou can before clamping it with the wood. then just push it down with your feet to tighten. the ends are hard to look neat, we tried folding, rolling alsorts, we ended up putting a frame in them so they can be attached to that. a triangle with a round edge isnt easy to fold nice and tidely

I helped put up a big double span one. Found that you can get a kind of metal runner that you screw to the frame of the tunnel, you pull the plastic down over it and just knock plastic tubing into the runner. It holds the cover really well. Looks a bit neater too. I'll stick some pictures up if you like.

Got mine (the wife's actually) up today, just got the other end door to fit. A bit breezy, which made pulling the cover over fun, but got there:thumbup1:
