I came down 15 feet off my orchard ladder (hate those effing things) and wrecked my shoulder. Got x-rays and wasn't surprised to be told that there are lots of old injuries in there including moderate osteoarthritis and calcification in the tendons but I felt fine before going off the ladder. Anyways, I am currently undergoing radial shockwave therapy to break down calcification in tendons and on the bones that should make it better than it was before. If you have any of that going on it is completely non-invasive and may tip the balance without an injection. There was pretty serious discussion about cortisone injection and/or surgery before I started improving with shockwave therapy.

Sorry to hear youre in pain, been there , done that and I aint going back 😉 hopefully. Had an rally bad tennis elbow for far to long, and in the end the docs an physios were real concerned that the tendon would burst/ snap. Then i research a bit and fund out about PRP treatment wicth is short for PLATELET RICH PLASMA, and wtf is that ? Your own blods platelets, concentrated and then injected in the tendon and adjecent areas.

Worked Wonders for me 👍

Look it up and see if it's way for you

Three pages in, in one hit!!??

You've all given me loads to think about thanks...

But by the looks of it, it's a no, for the cortisone injection if they offer it tomorrow.

As for resting it? No chance!

Unless I get Christmas off this year....

And as for the 'other' options that you've all mentioned - and I've never heard of...

I might just look into them.... :thumbup1:

Thanks again....

Complete rest is the answer to give the tendons a chance to heal.

I used to get tennis elbow a lot when I was younger and the main cause was doing council street tree pruning with handsaws.

When I stopped doing council contracts the elbow got better.

Have a look at what you do that aggravates.it the most and change if you can.

An injury I picked up a few months ago in my right elbow joint, just does not want to settle down / sort itself out.....

Still have a constant stabbing pain in there no matter what I've been using...

If he says they can give me an injection, should I have it?

:

Don't have the injection.

Find a an osteopath to cure the root of the problem. If this osteopath indicates that treatment will involve many sessions over many months, find another who isn't trying to line their pocket.

Chiropractors are not the right choice for this kind of problem.

Got the cause whittled down to the repeated lifting of log rings onto the splitter, and (currently*) hand chopping of kindling. There's just no let up at the moment.

*He's mentioned recently about getting a kindling machine, but I VERY much doubt that will happen.... :001_rolleyes:
