Looking for the right chainsaw

I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to felling trees but I do have a LANTRA ticket which I got a couple of years ago. I have recently started working at a hotel and am in sole charge of the grounds and surrounding woodland there. Part of my job is to supply logs for the fires in the hotel but there is no chainsaw or safety gear. I’ve never had to buy a chainsaw before so I’m not sure what I should be buying. I have read (on the internet) that I should be wary of buying second-hand, so I’ll probably be looking to buy new.

Any help would be most appreciated

I would personally reccomend buying brandnew, a ms361 with 15inch bar should do you nicely, or a m260 (not my favorite saw though :sneaky2:) with a small bar depending on what size wood your looking to cut.

Atleast get chainsaw trousers and some chainsaw boots, if your felling, a helmet with ear muffs, but if your just cross cutting logs then a pair of ear muffs will do, i didnt just say that though... :sneaky2::001_rolleyes:

But hey, if your able claim back the money you spend. Buy whatever you want, its what the MP's do after all :001_smile:

You still need a visor or safety specs if no lid with a visor. It's not worth your eyesight.
