Countryfile - the new front line in pollution

It makes me laugh that countryfile always describes a story as something new. Like planting trees and fencing off rivers which farmers have been doing for years, I know we fenced off all our streams at least 15 years ago.

I've also yet to meet a countryfile from the countryside who doesn't complain about it. :)

Someone told me years ago that the rivers are getting 'too clean' now too....

There's no 'muck' in them anymore for the bugs etc to feed on, thus starting the 'food chain'.....

Cows crapping in the rivers...?

All they eat is grass or silage, so it's not as if their pats are toxic!

Not toxic but full of nutrients, microscopic life forms etc, which if not utilised (maybe watercress a la cow clap) leads to algae bloom which snuffs out the light, then subsurface life.

I was reading about rainwater harvesting for horticulture it went like this.

Wanted to store water.

Went stagnant.

Oxygenated it.

Houses nearby and mosquitoes started to thrive.

Got Rudd to eat larvae

Rudd population boomed excessively.

Got rainbow trout to check young Rudd numbers.

The web of life is complex!

I nearly got run over by a farmer while walking in the fields because I was not wearing Hi viz clothing. I don't know how they miss all those cows they are practically invisible without their vests on.

It's maniacs like you who are ruining the countryside with their dangerous antics.

I bet you didn't even have any walking poles.
